GRATITUDE

He was born into a life of poverty
Missing his runaway father and left with no integrity
Single parent mother who loved him unconditionally
But the harsh reality of life bore him misery
Which equals a life focussed on monetary gains
Sugar-coating the crater of past memory pains

His youth was filled with prosperity, hope and affection for others
Soon friendships were established as joyful feelings blossomed
Emotions that were once locked, sealed in a front of pillars
Were resurrected from within, as he prospered

In his adult life, he neglected the finer things
Words such as friendship and family were now falsely defined
He became obsessed with worldly possessions
Thus inevitably, he would lonely face this world’s terror and crime
He would cry for help… but no one would answer
For he was so engulfed by the darkness that no light could enter

Right eye followed left eyes’ awakening
The golden gates of Heaven shone so bright and blinding
“I am in Heaven” he whispered as he felt the warm embrace of God’s Love
“Indeed” roared Gabriel
“And welcome to the Heavenly Father’s family above”
“Your life was wealthy, yet you were poor”
“Your life was filled with possessions, yet you were empty to the core”
“Love for family, friends and most importantly God was non-existent”
“Your existence will be forgotten and become irrelevant”

He cried “My eyes are opened and I can now see”
“Embraced in God’s grace I now know His Love for me”
“Permit me a second chance to do what is right”
“And find favour in all that I have wronged sight”
“Father, have mercy on me for I now repent”
“For all the years I chose to listen to the lies of the serpent”

His eyes opened and he took a deep second first breath
He was granted a second birth but spiritual rebirth
Surrounding his coffin were the same people he neglected
Heavy precipitation poured from his eyes as they reflected
The sheer magnitude of reinvigorated gratitude and appreciation he had for life

He didn’t know what he had
He lost sight of God
He had to lose it all to gain it all
Appreciate the little in your life
For God uses small hinges to open big doors!
AMEN

Thank You

Thank you for this precious gift of Life
The blessings that this life brings into whosoever it touches
The caring and compassionate heart that rivals a deer’s mother’s love towards her new born fawn
That she is willing to give up her own life to save her biological clone
That smile of yours lightens up the whole room
It eliminates the sorrow feeling of doom and gloom
Thank you for being honest with me 24/7
A true friend
In my eyes an angel sent from heaven
To watch over me and put my past life to an end
And embark on a new journey
Or should I say an old journey put on hold as I was not ready
Your voice like a heavenly instrument
That when played soothes the soul and destroys all resentment
A boyhood wish to harmonise
With such a voice that brings tears to ones’ eyes
And give glory with all our hearts and might
To the Lord Almighty who sent this angel as a beacon of light
And blessed me with this precious gift of life

Special Happiness

Meeting you was an experience in itself
As you lay in that bed so peaceful and calm
Your whole existence so still with no sense of life
Your laugh and your smile as pure as a child
So honest so loving it calms the beast wild
The look in your eyes as it shines so fierce
Like a young lion cub with the innocence of illusion
But the king of jungle lay dormant in waiting
Of course there’s your beauty in all it splendour
But never forget the thorns of a rose splinter

What kind of friend is She?

What kind of friend is NANAYAA AGYEMAN?
I wish I could say my 1st meeting with She was a memorable experience
But in this case I have the dwindling memory of an old man’s desperate attempt to reminisce
However the memory of the cook-out is just as special the start of relationship as ever
But who would have imagined two from opposite ends would click as naturally as two fingers swiftly pressing against each other
She is a one in a lifetime type of person
Who doesn’t just stay for a Season
But remains by your side through all the hi’s and bye’s
And becomes as close as a sister
No need for blood ties
I do not need biological DNA to constitute a family member
When my heart has already accepted you as the big sister I never had but always wanted
She is someone I can converse with for hours on end
Discussing about random subjects with no relevance
But also my personal shrink to keep my ever volatile emotions from erupting like a volcanic substance
She’s someone filled with insane craziness
Who has transformed my life into non-stop mad fun and randomness
So I throw out the question once again
What kind of friend is She?
Indeed She is the kind, loving, sensitive, caring, very interesting and vibrant and many more complimentary adjectives
But
Without any doubt in this entire world and universe is that
Nanayaa is my BEST FRIEND
