Lonely Strum

D, E, F, G, A, B, C
The sequence continues as he plucks away gently
Look at him
That haircut so trim
Sat there with the utmost pleasure
He could play forever

For him
Forever feeling like a static time stream
In a continuous flow yet in his mind confined within a fixed dream

The world carrying on as usual
Whilst he carries on the usual
Motion after motion his fingers carefully twang against each string
In a melodic fashion he transcends himself into a purified melodious being

Whose essence and purpose is creation of musical phenomena
That sprouts once every millennia
Throwing this world into hysteria

To him
All that remains is the calm
From the soft melody of each Bible Psalm
To the hard hitting passion of the heart
Which threatens to tear us apart
That some relate to as art
Right back to the start
Picture a painting of pure simplicity
One man and his friend in harmony

As he takes the stand
With his pick in his hand
And the music in his heart

The time has come
For the lonely strum
