He was born into a life of poverty
Missing his runaway father and left with no integrity
Single parent mother who loved him unconditionally
But the harsh reality of life bore him misery
Which equals a life focussed on monetary gains
Sugar-coating the crater of past memory pains
His youth was filled with prosperity, hope and affection for others
Soon friendships were established as joyful feelings blossomed
Emotions that were once locked, sealed in a front of pillars
Were resurrected from within, as he prospered
In his adult life, he neglected the finer things
Words such as friendship and family were now falsely defined
He became obsessed with worldly possessions
Thus inevitably, he would lonely face this world’s terror and crime
He would cry for help… but no one would answer
For he was so engulfed by the darkness that no light could enter
Right eye followed left eyes’ awakening
The golden gates of Heaven shone so bright and blinding
“I am in Heaven” he whispered as he felt the warm embrace of God’s Love
“Indeed” roared Gabriel
“And welcome to the Heavenly Father’s family above”
“Your life was wealthy, yet you were poor”
“Your life was filled with possessions, yet you were empty to the core”
“Love for family, friends and most importantly God was non-existent”
“Your existence will be forgotten and become irrelevant”
He cried “My eyes are opened and I can now see”
“Embraced in God’s grace I now know His Love for me”
“Permit me a second chance to do what is right”
“And find favour in all that I have wronged sight”
“Father, have mercy on me for I now repent”
“For all the years I chose to listen to the lies of the serpent”
His eyes opened and he took a deep second first breath
He was granted a second birth but spiritual rebirth
Surrounding his coffin were the same people he neglected
Heavy precipitation poured from his eyes as they reflected
The sheer magnitude of reinvigorated gratitude and appreciation he had for life
He didn’t know what he had
He lost sight of God
He had to lose it all to gain it all
Appreciate the little in your life
For God uses small hinges to open big doors!
AMEN
